To eliminate the emission of petroleum distillates and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), 3S Printers uses advanced ink formulations and ultraviolet (UV) curing: high-intensity UV light dries inks and varnish instantly on-press, eliminating the emissions that occur in air-drying.
UV inks allow a printer the ability to produce jobs more quickly than is possible with conventional ink technology. We can meet tight deadlines with ease, because the press sheets are dry the instant they leave the press. The sheets can be turned around and put back in the press so the reverse side of the press sheet can be printed without delay.
With UV printing, the ink is dried instantly with ultraviolet light. The inks that come off the press are dry and stable, so what you see is exactly what you get. With conventional inks, the "dry back" (the change in colour as the ink dries) can be as high as 10 to 15 percent with certain colours. UV inks eliminate this problem, taking the guesswork out of your press approval. Also, because each colour of UV ink is dry before the next colour is applied, UV inks provide superior results on uncoated paper.
